The Yavorivska city council, which is in the Lviv region, has been maintaining close ties with the Shalyginska settlement council in Sumy region for over a year – a region that lives next to the threat from the enemy every day. This cooperation has long gone beyond formal meetings. And the help that is received is truly needed.
During this time, the partners have exchanged support more than once – delivering humanitarian aid, creating opportunities for children. Last summer, with the assistance of international partners, boys and girls from both communities were able to relax in Germany, at least for a short time escaping the realities of war.
This time, the support is very practical and vital. The Yavorivska community handed over five gasoline and one electric generator to Shalyginska. They will be useful to residents who are forced to live in conditions of constant shelling, power outages, and danger.
True partnership is not on paper, but in concrete actions. Because Ukraine’s strength lies not only in its army, but also in the cohesion of its communities.
