A week of unforgettable experiences for children from the Matviyivska community of Zaporizhia

As part of the project “Side by Side: United Communities”, the Skala-Podilska territorial community hospitably hosted children from the Matviyivska village council of the Zaporizhia district of the Zaporizhia region. During the week, the guests traveled, rested, and discovered new places for themselves.

The children visited Ternopil, visited historical and spiritual sites of Skala-Podilska, saw an ancient fortress and a local history museum. There was also a trip to Kamianets-Podilskyi and the Verteby cave. As a result, there were vivid impressions and a sea of positive emotions. In the evenings, children from the front-line community were treated to joint games, dances, songs, and sincere conversations that created a sense of comfort and security.

A special moment was the joint planting of a thuja alley in the center of the village as a sign of partnership between the Skala-Podilska community of the Ternopil region and the Matviyivska community of Zaporizhia. These trees symbolize friendship, peace and faith in the future. The children also made their own motanka dolls – amulets of goodness and family warmth. Despite the cool weather, the week passed in a warm atmosphere of trust and support. This experience left behind not only memories, but also new ties between communities, which are becoming stronger every day.
