The Brovary City Council transferred 2 million hryvnias from the special budget fund to support the Dergachivsk urban territorial community of the Kharkiv region. This was made possible thanks to the partnership of both communities in the project “Side by Side: United Communities”.
Due to its proximity to the front line, the Dergachivsk community often suffers from power outages, which is why the community has constant interruptions in water supply.
The Dergachivsk community directed the funds received from the Brovary community and 500 thousand hryvnias from its own budget to repair and equip drinking water sources. Two important facilities were restored in Dergachi – the Krynytsia and Rudychi catchments. The springs, which were half-abandoned until recently, were improved, lighting was installed, and water collection was made convenient. The road to the springs is also planned to be renovated in the near future.
Currently, they are again suitable for use and meet the requirements of safe water supply.
The springs are located in different parts of the settlement, which ensures stable access of residents to clean water, which is a necessary condition for a healthy life.
Collaboration in “Side by Side: Cohesive Communities” translates into concrete results that people experience in their daily needs.
