Due to massive Russian shelling and power outages, the city faced problems with public transport. A significant part of Odessa’s routes is served by electric transport, which cannot fully operate during outages.
Communities from different regions responded promptly to Odessa’s request. To support the city during this difficult period, they provided Southern Palmyra with their own buses. Almost 40 units of transport are already on the road or will leave in the coming days.
They will temporarily – for the period of overcoming the consequences of the energy crisis – help maintain stable operation of routes and ensure passenger transportation.
Lviv, Kropyvnytskyi, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, Mariupol, Vinnytsia and Bila Tserkva stood shoulder to shoulder with Odessa.
Such examples of interaction show how communities support each other in times of war: quickly, without unnecessary words, responding to the real needs of people. This is the same legendary Ukrainian resilience that amazes the whole world.
