Today, Ukraine celebrates Youth Day. The younger generation is the future of the state, so Ukrainian children from frontline territories continue to receive much-needed attention, care, and the opportunity to recover and relax thanks to the partnership between rear communities and outpost communities within the framework of the “Shoulder to Shoulder: Cohesive Communities” project.
– For two weeks, 17 children from the Yunakivska community in Sumy region rested and recovered at the Chaika camp in Khrinnyky, thanks to an initiative by the Horodok village council. The second shift is now beginning, and another 15 young people from Sumy will also go to the camp for rest and recreation.
– The Mriya dance troupe from the Okhtyrka City Center for Culture and Leisure Knezha, Okhtyrka City Territorial Community – Okhtyrka City Council, spent a week visiting the Mostyska City Council in Lviv Oblast. The children attended master classes and excursions, and also performed on stage at the People’s House in Mostyska;
– Children from the Ivanivska Village Council of the Chernihiv District in the Chernihiv Region visited the Skorykivska Territorial Community in the Ternopil Region. The children visited Zbarazh Castle, the wooden church of St. John the Theologian, and took part in volleyball competitions, where they met with local peers.
– Representatives of the Sokolivska community from Kirovohrad region organized an unforgettable sports weekend for young footballers from the Bilozerska village council in Kherson region. They played a fierce friendly match with representatives of the Kolos Children’s and Youth Sports School of the Sokolivska village council;
– In the Hryshkivets territorial community, as part of the “Shoulder to Shoulder: Cohesive Communities” project, a three-day sports camp was held, which was attended by young athletes and their coaches from the Novobuzh City Council in Mykolaiv region. The camp program included sports competitions, tactical training sessions, a course on emergency medical care, shooting, drone control, and other entertainment.
