Cooperation between communities has a special meaning when it comes to supporting children.
Recently, the Kamianka City Council in the Cherkasy region received guests from the Tavria community of the Kherson region. These were children and teachers whose homes are currently under occupation.
The people of Kamianka did everything to make this day a warm memory for them. Together, they visited the lyceum, the Center for Children’s Creativity, the youth space “Same Chas”, local museums, a music school and the picturesque Tyasminsky Canyon. It was an opportunity to feel peace, joy and care.
The mayor of Kamianka personally expressed his support, thanked the teachers and assured that the Kamianka community is always ready to help.
Also, the students of the “Mercy” Center, who were evacuated with their families to the village of Neresnytsia Pokrovska City Military Administration of the Donetsk region, spent an unforgettable day in the city of Khust.
The pupils of the center, together with their parents, got acquainted with the iconic places of the Khust City Council, which helped them learn more about the history of Transcarpathia and its rich traditions. The guests also visited the Khust Castle – a landmark place on the mountain, where there was a castle-fortress in the 12th century.
The Donetsk residents also visited the local history museum and learned a lot of new and exciting things about the history of the Khust region.
In both cases, the trips lasted only a day, but they were convinced that even in times of war there are places where children can simply be children, where they are expected, supported and cared about their future.
