Southern Ukraine Forum: Communities Unite for Recovery

The 3rd Southern Ukraine Forum “Government and Community: A Joint Path from Humanitarian Response to Recovery and Development” was held on September 30 – October 1.

The Forum was organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine and the Government of Denmark. The event became a platform for dialogue between the authorities, communities and international partners on how to move from emergency response to recovery and sustainable development of regions.

The Forum presented the project “Shoulder-to-Shoulder: United Communities”. Project Manager Mariana Tomin spoke about the ecosystem of partnerships that has already united hundreds of communities across the country. The event was attended by communities that are already working in the “Shoulder-to-Shoulder” format and those that plan to join the new wave of the project.

We are grateful to UNDP for supporting the initiative and inviting us to participate in the Forum. Through such partnerships, communities are empowered not only to overcome the challenges of war, but also to shape recovery strategies based on trust and effective governance.
This is how, side by side, strong, resilient, and cohesive communities in Ukraine grow.
