Sport unites communities

Community partnership is not just memoranda, aid or humanitarian cargo. Sometimes it is born simply on the sports field.

As part of the initiative “Side by Side: United Communities”, the men’s volleyball team of the Petrivsko-Romenska community from Poltava region paid a friendly visit to the Sumy region – to the Synivska community.

The team took part in a volleyball tournament in memory of physical education teacher Hryhoriy Plyushch – a man who dedicated his life to the development of sports and the education of youth.

Five teams participated in the tournament. The atmosphere was truly sporting: intense matches, loud support from fans, team spirit and fair competition.

In the end, the volleyball players of the Petrivsko-Romenska community won. They won first place and returned home with the cup.

And Zaporizhia and Chernivtsi, which have been working together in the “Side by Side” program for a year, took part in the Bukovyna Cup charity tournament.

Thanks to this, more than 130 students of the Metalurh football academy got the opportunity to take part in the Bukovyna Cup charity tournament.

The U-13 and U-14 teams have already completed their performances. And even without prizes, they have gained important experience, new acquaintances and high-quality playing practice.

The cooperation of communities continues, which means new competitions, victories and impressions are ahead!
