On November 2, 80 children from the Izyum community of the Kharkiv region and the Chasovoyariv community of the Donetsk region immersed themselves in the atmosphere of adventure and discovery in the heart of Ukraine – the city of Kyiv. The children’s visit to the capital took place thanks to the “Side by Side: United Communities” project and the support of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.
Traditionally, the acquaintance with the city began with the interactive exhibition Ukraine WOW, which captivates with the beauty and resilience of our country. Then there was the Museum of Mathematics “Kuboid”, where children felt how interesting science and discoveries can be. The Museum of the History of Ukraine reminded of the outstanding events of our past, the Museum of the History of Aviation impressed with its scale and fundamentality. The Borshchagov community kindly provided transportation so that children could comfortably move around the capital.
In just two weeks, more than 450 schoolchildren from Mykolaiv, Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv regions visited Kyiv. For children who have experienced all the horrors of war, such trips to the capital are a great opportunity to relax and get unforgettable impressions, which is what childhood should be remembered for.
Special thanks to the Bo Khlib bakery for the goodies and McDonald’s for the delicious food, and to the Boyarska, Bilogorodska and Borshchahivska communities for the provided transportation.
May Ukrainian children always be smiling and happy!
