A Christmas tree from Toretsk shone on the square in Ruzhyn

Another example of unity and support of Ukrainians is how we can call an event that took place the other day in the Ruzhyn community in the Zhytomyr region. A festive Christmas tree was solemnly opened in the central square of the village, which was evacuated from Toretsk by the city military-civilian administration in the Donetsk region due to active hostilities.

The local community is a partner of the Toretsk community of the Donetsk region in the national project “Side by Side: United Communities”. Therefore, many displaced people from the Toretsk community-outpost currently live in the Ruzhyn community. There is also a communal facility relocated from the Toretsk community, where the elderly and people with disabilities live.

This Christmas tree has been delighting locals and guests for the second year in a row. For Donetsk residents who were forced to leave their homes due to the Russian occupation, the Christmas tree from Toretsk in Ruzhyn symbolizes support, care, and of course, a sense of celebration. Any difficulties can be overcome when true friends stand side by side!
