Chuguiv and Halych now side by side

On October 31, the Galician City Council – the official page of the Ivano-Frankivsk region and the Chuhuivsk City Council of the Kharkiv region signed a memorandum of cooperation in the fourth wave of the national project: “Shoulder-to-Shoulder: United Communities”. The signing took place as part of the event “Days of Crimea. Frankivsk region”, which was attended by government representatives, officials, cultural workers, and public figures.

It is symbolic that the signing took place in Galicia. The city not only preserves, but also promotes the development of the culture of the Karaite people in Galicia, just like Chuhuiv, which is located hundreds of kilometers away in the Kharkiv region.

After the signing, community representatives, together with the Permanent Representation of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, officials, public and cultural figures, honored the memory of the Karaites on the territory of the Karaite cemetery of the 17th – 18th centuries.

Cultural interaction and spiritual unity are the key to cohesion and an incentive for achievements and resilience despite the challenges of a great war.
