Homeland communities do not tire of creating spaces of care and security for children from frontline communities.

The Kalush City Council once again welcomed children from the Nikopol City Council, which is under enemy fire every day. This time, 20 children came to the city with their mentors. A rich program awaited them: cinema, swimming pool, skating rink, art therapy, excursions, walks and communication with peers. These visits have already become a tradition – and this is a conscious choice of Kalush to be shoulder to shoulder with those who live very close to the war.

The Precarpathian region also welcomed guests from Kalush’s sister city – the Novogrodov City Council.
This is the fourth visit to Kalush of gifted youth from the Donetsk region. This tradition reliably maintains the connection between the communities of the east and west.

Partners provided accommodation, meals and a program with a nursery, master classes and participation in the All-Ukrainian school leagues “Side by Side”. The children also visited the ice arena and took part in a number of interactive activities, including the game “Democracy” and the author’s quest “Flight through Ukraine”, developed by the youth of Novogrodno.
And in Bukovina, the Velikokuchurivska Hromada for children hosted children from the Kalynivska settlement military administration of the Kherson region for winter holidays.

A safe and comfortable space was created for them: psychological training, art therapy, excursions to Chernivtsi, acquaintance with the university and museums. The trip became an opportunity for recovery, new impressions and peace – something that children from front-line regions lack so much.

In the Rivne region, the Lyceum of the Velyko Omelyanska Village Council, thanks to a partnership with the Chmyrivska AH from the Luhansk region, operates a children’s sports club “Sportyvna Khvylya”. 10 classes have already been held here, in which more than 200 children took part, including 30 children from the internally displaced persons from the Luhansk region. Dodgeball, floorball, rugby-5 – sports create an opportunity for new acquaintances, emotional relief and a feeling of a united family.

Thank you to everyone who stays by our side in difficult times and gives children smiles and peace!
