In 2025, the Zolochiv Village Council of the Kharkiv region, Bogodukhiv district, began cooperation with the Zolochiv city council of the Zolochiv district of the Lviv region and the Lyubeshiv territorial community of the Volyn region within the framework of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities”.
Only half a year has passed, and the result is already tangible: the partners have allocated 2 million hryvnias to restore infrastructure facilities damaged by Russian shelling.
First of all, this is a hospital – a key institution for the front-line community, which lives under the threat of strikes every day.
These funds made it possible not to stop the work of the medical institution, continue to receive patients and provide assistance to people in difficult war conditions.
However, financial support is only part of the joint work. In parallel, the communities:
- organized the production and transfer of FPV drones for units of the State Border Guard Service in the Kharkiv direction;
- support wounded defenders undergoing treatment and rehabilitation in a hospital in the Lviv region;
- develop cooperation in medicine, education and culture;
- create opportunities for children’s recovery, recreation and development.
During working visits, partners not only agree on plans for the future, but also see with their own eyes how the community lives under shelling – and why this support matters.
