“Roots of Resilience”: Communities Plant Trees as a Symbol of Memory and Restoration

To mark Environment Day, communities from different regions of Ukraine joined the “Roots of Resilience” environmental campaign initiated by the Mangush Settlement Military Administration as part of the “Side by Side: United Communities” project.

In Kyiv and Dnipro, trees and flowers were planted together by representatives of the Mangush, Sartan, Kalchytsa, and Mykil communities of Donetsk Oblast, as well as the Solotvyn community of the Transcarpathian region and the Stepanet community of the Cherkasy region.

The war caused irreparable damage to nature and the Ukrainian land. But this event has more than just an ecological significance. Each tree planted is a symbol of remembrance of the dead, gratitude to the defenders, and faith in the restoration of Ukraine.
