Do you know what “badzonia” or “tuzluk” is? And what does “to lead Volodar” mean?

The participants of the festival in Teplyk now know. It was here, as part of “Side by Side,” that the Teplyk and Myrne communities met at the festival “In Tradition — Strength, in Unity — the Future.”

Vinnytsia, Kherson, Donetsk regions. Partner communities from different regions, but with the same philosophy: to stick together and take care of traditions.

The guests were greeted as they should be: with bread and salt. And among them — the released defender from the Myrne community Yan Gushchyn.

The program includes an exhibition of paintings, live music, master classes, museums, acquaintance with history, songs and dances. And an auction — to help those who are now on the front lines.

And of course — traditions. “To lead Volodar” is a ritual that has survived only in the village of Rozkošivka. It has survived times and prohibitions, and is still alive.

We also tasted together. The traditional Teplichansk badzionya, which is being prepared for inclusion in the list of intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine, and the shepherd’s dish tuzluk.

In the finale, “The Long Vine”. This is a symbolic chain of unity that united children, youth, and elders in a common circle of tradition.

Traditions are not the past. They are what holds us together!
