Sharing experiences and practices – the foundations of cooperation side by side

At the panel on interaction of the public dialogue “Side by side: creating the future together”, participating communities and project partners talked about successful practices of interaction and recovery.

The panel, moderated by the project ambassador Yegor Gordeyev, featured the following speakers: Deputy Chairman of Ukrzaliznytsia – Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Shevchenko, Head of Savynskyi Territorial Community of Izyumskyi District and Kupyansk City Military Administration of Kharkiv Region Oxana Suprun and Andriy Besedin, as well as Head of Novoyavorivskyi Territorial Community of Lviv Region Volodymyr Matselyukh.

JSC Ukrzaliznytsia is a constant partner of the project. Thanks to Ukrzaliznytsia, thousands of Ukrainian children from frontline territories made unforgettable trips to the capital, as well as to communities and cities of Ukraine, where it is relatively calm, and the sounds of explosions have replaced words of care and support. Oleksandr Shevchenko assured that Ukrzaliznytsia will continue to assist in transporting children and citizens who were forced to leave their homes due to Russian aggression.

The Novoyavoriv community, located hundreds of kilometers from the LBZ, is doing everything to ensure that its partner Savynska community does not feel alone with the challenges of war. The communities have created a common platform of mutual support, thanks to which specialists from different fields can interact and help colleagues who are in difficult conditions due to Russian aggression.

The created space of unity is aimed at overcoming not only obvious difficulties, but also at providing moral and psychological assistance to those who need it most.

Thanks to the support of partners, children from the Savynska community were able to enjoy unforgettable trips to the picturesque Carpathians and ancient Lviv – emotions that will be remembered forever. This direction will continue to be a priority for the communities, because children are our future.

The next stage was determined to attract foreign investments and assistance from our partners from the European Union.
On November 20, the Kupyanska community signed a memorandum of cooperation, which became the 12th for the community. The Savynska community also has more than ten partner communities. This demonstrates that Ukrainians do not turn away from those in need, but on the contrary, they want and strive to help those who are currently in an extremely difficult situation.

All stories of interaction and cooperation are unique, filled with human warmth and a desire to help as much as necessary. United, side by side, they are able to overcome any difficulties.

The public dialogue “Side by side: creating the future together” was organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine together with the United Nations Development Program UNDP Ukraine / UNDP in Ukraine within the framework of the flagship partnership with the European Union (EU) “EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine”. The opinions, recommendations or conclusions expressed by participants during the event do not necessarily reflect the official position of UNDP, the UN, the EU or other partners.
