“Space of Unity” in Bucha brought together communities from different regions of Ukraine

On December 13-14, the Bucha City Council hosted the event “Space of Unity. Creating the Future Together”. Representatives of the communities participating in the project “Side by Side: United Communities”, as well as public activists from the Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Donetsk, Cherkasy and Kyiv regions, worked fruitfully together. They shared their experience of cooperation in the project, analyzed the problems and challenges of wartime and found ways to solve them.

Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Ryabykin joined the presentation of the achievements. He took an active part in discussing the possibilities of implementing the proposed ideas.

Over the year of operation, the project “Side by Side: United Communities” has proven that the main and most valuable asset is people – Ukrainians, who in the most difficult times, despite their own difficulties, are always ready to lend a shoulder of support.
Therefore, the goal of the “Space of Unity” was to create a workshop for people with experience of successful cases. We managed to combine resources with human knowledge and form joint solutions to existing problems.

At the end of the event, all participants received certificates of participation and “Spaces of Unity”.
The venue also inspired fruitful work. Bucha is a symbol of human resilience and unity in difficult times. It is thanks to the solidarity and joint actions of communities and international partners that Bucha is today a symbol of recovery after significant destruction by the Russian occupiers. Rebuilt after Russian crimes, Bucha proves by its own example that by joining forces, the most difficult challenges of today can be overcome.

The event was organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine together with UNDP Ukraine in Ukraine within the framework of the flagship partnership with the European Union (EU) “EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine”.
