The Darivska village council of the Kherson region was under occupation by Russian invaders. Some of its settlements were completely destroyed by the occupiers, while others continue to hold out despite extremely difficult conditions – the Russians continue to constantly shell civilian houses and infrastructure.
The Oliivska united territorial community of the Zhytomyr region is a partner of Darivska in the national project “Side by Side: United Communities”. The communities cooperate fruitfully in the project and have already become true friends.
In the summer, schoolchildren from the Darivska community rested at a school camp in Oliivka. The leadership and specialists from various areas of the Darivska community also visited Oliivka. It was time for representatives of the Oliivska community to visit the outpost community.
Children, parents, teachers and educators from Oliivka gathered goodies, gifts and wrote greeting cards for their friends from the Darivska community for the New Year holidays. The head of the Oliivska community, together with the head of the education department, handed over all this, as well as two inverter generators, to the grateful children, their parents, teachers and the leadership of the Darivska community. The guests saw with their own eyes the extremely difficult conditions in which they live in Darivka. Here are the numerous destructive consequences of the arrivals, the destroyed school, anti-drone nets over the roads along which locals travel every day in their daily affairs.
Despite all this, the close-knit community continues to hold on thanks to the support of caring partners, colleagues and true friends.
