Ukrainian youth speaks to Europe

Ukrainian youth visited Brussels to talk about their country, their communities, and their future. The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development helped organize the trip.

The delegation included representatives from Fastiv, Berdyansk, Chuhuyiv, and Mykilske, all in the Donetsk region. Young people from frontline and temporarily occupied territories who know about the war not from the news.

In the center of Europe, they met with representatives of European institutions, talked about the life of communities today, about the challenges, and about what is needed for recovery.

Young people held many meetings where they got acquainted with the work of local governments, discussed opportunities for cooperation in supporting youth initiatives, and talked with local youth and the Ukrainian diaspora.

Representatives of local governments in Germany and Sweden also joined the dialogue.

Thus, the cooperation of communities within the framework of “Side by Side” goes beyond the borders of the country. And the voice of Ukrainian communities is increasingly heard at the European level.
