As part of the Shoulder to Shoulder: Cohesive Communities project, three groups of schoolchildren from Ochakiv spent their summer holidays at camps run by partner communities: Derazhnia City Council in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, Zvenyhorod City Council in Cherkasy Oblast, and Novodnistrovsk City Council in Bukovina.
These trips were extremely necessary for children from frontline areas. They not only received an emotional recharge, but also a warm welcome, daily care, new experiences, and friends. Evenings by the “Friends’ Bonfire,” excursions, master classes, museums, and games — all of this will remain in their happy memories forever.
Such events are not just about recreation. They are a manifestation of real solidarity between communities. The support that the children felt is proof that the whole country stands shoulder to shoulder with them.
